This project involved the development of an augmented reality (AR) museum exhibition designed for Magic Leap headsets. The exhibition, which took place in the Meadowlark Museum, showcased the history of augmented reality through a variety of interactive exhibits and artefacts. The primary objectives of the project included 3D modelling, interaction design, the implementation of augmented reality principles.

The first step in the project was the creation of a case with an Art Deco/Streamline Moderne style to showcase a stereoscopic camera belonging to a female engineer named Natasha Sidorova. The case was designed using 3D modelling software and included intricate details such as geometric patterns and sleek, curved edges. The camera was created with a combination of vintage and modern elements to highlight the progression of technology over time.

To enhance the realism and interactivity of the AR experience, rigging methods were utilized to create animations for the moveable parts of the camera. A digital skeleton or structure was created to control the movement of the camera’s moveable parts such as the lens, shutter, and focus ring. The rigging was created using 3D modelling software and was then integrated into the AR experience.
