Smart Dynamic Casting (link) is a robotic fabricaiton process originally developed by Dr. Ena Lloret-Fritschi. This method utilizes the slipforming construction technique for the fabrication of bespoke concrete elements by implementing an adaptive formwork system and a sophisticated approach to the use of admixtures in concrete processing. The potential of SDC in producing 1:1 architectural structures is demonstrated in its first architectural application for the production of interior façade mullions of the DFAB HOUSE by the NCCR Digital Fabrication. This project that highlights the potential of digital and robotic fabrication technologies and it links it to the exploration of new possibilities in architectures.
